June's Over? Julying...

The people of PCT have spoken. We can't wait around for Baldie's faux pas time differential to create the new thread. Plus the fact that I'll be away next week, someone else can handle the troubles.

This week marks the end of June. Halfway through the calendar year. Instead of another "Give your 2025 a Google rating" thread, we'll hold off on that for 6 more months. Meanwhile, there's a lot of stuff happening this first week of July.

July 1st marks Canada. And unlike the United States & Mexico who celebrate their independence, the origin of Canada celebrates when three provincial colonies united into one to make Canada. Two of my favorite Canadians, Wayne Gretzky & Mario Lemieux both played the hardest sport in the World; hockey. Meanwhile, DBL & JC's favorite Canadian, Steve Yzerman, is publically euthanizing their favorite team; the Red Wings. Let's not forget the MVP of the NBA & NBA Finals, Shea Gilgeous Alexander. How about former MVP's, Larry Walker & Justin Morneau? Let's not forget one of my personal favorites, Brooke Henderson, oh yeah baby lol. So make sure you celebrate Mexico North's holiday appropriately.

The first three days also celebrate one of the most important battles in the history of not only PCT, but of the United States; the three days in Gettysburg. The nerd that I am, I love the history of Gettysburg. Seminary Ridge, Little Round Top, Big Round Top, Devil's Den, Culp's Hill, and Pickett's Charge. If it weren't for the outcome that was in Gettysburg, where would our country be today? There are some who think we're still fighting the Civil War by crying out racism whenever they can. And yes, the photo below is from the actual field of Pickett's Charge.

But, to close out this week, we celebrate America's 249th birthday. Imagine how long it would take for someone to blow out 249 candles on a cake. While most of you may have a short week of work, I for one, do not. So, while you're out eating hotdogs, hamburgers, steaks, clams, whatever... think of those in the service industry who do not get days like July 4th off. Celebrate responsibly & don't pull a Jason Pierre-Paul.

My time will come next week when you all have to suffer through another one of BBB Baldie's Boring Threads, while I'm away in the mountains of West Virginia & Maryland.

For now.
